A Human Wish
Example of an Etho
Humanity witnessed the arrival of the first Etho in ¦¦¦¦. Their unique biology, capable of replicating that of humans, was unlike any species on Earth. Before ¦¦¦¦,
sightings of Ethos were quite rare and their behaviors were mostly undocumented. The most notable research development came in ¦¦¦¦ by ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ after ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ This opened up opportunities for further tests, and by
¦¦¦¦ Ethos were considered safe to co-exist with Humanity. It did not take long before humans began to socialize with Ethos, and they quickly developed into a role similar to a house pet or accessory.
The Etho population doubled in just under ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦, especially in urban areas that were more densely populated by humans.
A survey by ¦¦¦¦¦ conducted in ¦¦¦¦ reported that in the ¦¦¦¦¦¦ area, the average household had at least one Etho.
During this time, their abundance made it difficult for organizations like adoption centers, animal breeders, and other parties interested in profiting from Ethos to find success.
Only when humans began to observe traits that they deemed more appealing or rare did the sale of Ethos find interest by the general public.
Internet forums like ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦, singularcell.ne, and ¦¦¦¦¦, were popularized for their discussion around the creatures during their initial sightings and quickly drew in merchants and customers alike. ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Biology
Ethos are "hive-like" eusocial creatures, existing in clusters centered around a Host, which dictates the behavior of the Etho. Cluster sizes range drastically from just a few, to hundreds of Ethos, and are dependent on energy from the Host to duplicate. While an Etho can travel far distances for extended periods of time without returning to their clusters, they do not exhibit drifting or solitary behavior like other variants of eusocial creatures.
Ethos are territorial, however, and are hostile towards any creature outside of their cluster. While some Ethos have been observed to intentionally avoid other animals, most variants display extreme aggression towards other lifeforms and often seek out creatures to kill.
The intelligence of Ethos vary drastically.
Ethos do not exhibit the need to eat or drink.
